1:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. Confessions (an opportunity for the fallen away to return)

3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Divine Mercy Sunday Prayer Service

An hour of prayer and adoration, which will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Divine Mercy Sunday.

Divine Mercy Sunday is a day of extraordinary graces, a day of mercy, an opportunity to help sinners to come back into full union with Christ and his Church.

The Promise to All Souls Observing Divine Mercy Sunday

On one occasion, I heard these words: My daughter, tell the whole world about My Inconceivable mercy. I desire that the Feast of Mercy be a refuge and shelter for all souls, and especially for poor sinners. On that day the very depths of My tender mercy are open. I pour out a whole ocean of graces upon those souls who approach the fount of My mercy. The soul that will go to Confession and receive Holy Communion shall obtain complete forgiveness of sins and punishment.  On that day all the divine floodgates through which grace flow are opened. Let no soul fear to draw near to Me, even though its sins be as scarlet. My mercy is so great that no mind, be it of man or of angel, will be able to fathom it throughout all eternity. [Diary 699]

Plenary Indulgence Granted for Divine Mercy Sunday

On June 13, 2002 Pope John Paul II granted a plenary indulgence for Divine Mercy Sunday.

Conditions given for this plenary indulgence:

1.    Sacramental Confession (preferably before Divine Mercy Sunday)

2.    Reception of Holy Communion (on Divine Mercy Sunday)

3.    Prayer for the intentions of the Supreme Pontiff (Our Father, Hail Mary, and a Glory Be.)

4.    Participation in the prayers and devotions held in honor on Divine Mercy on Divine Mercy Sunday,  in any church or chapel,  in a spirit that is completely detached from the affection for a sin, even a venial sin.
